A solemn city with a millennial soul that recounts the ancient splendour and charms the finest minds…
After a long period of abandonment, Sir Francis Reid was captured by its beauty and bought Villa Rufolo, leading to the cultural and economic renaissance of the city. He was followed by Sir William Beckett who built Villa Cimbone, which drew to Ravello: Goethe, Wagner, Reid, Gide, Forster…as well as the King and Queen of Sweden, actors and directors, Gore Vidal and his villa “La Rondinaia”…and finally the exciting adventure of the Ravello Festival.
