Proud and warlike, during the Punic Wars the Romans preferred to have the town as an ally. Then peace, with the galleys becoming trade vessels, making the town rich and opulent, well beyond that of Amalfi. In the seventeenth century, in the secret rooms of the Monastery of Santa Rosa the famous Sfogliatella was born!
On two levels: the upper part, with the green olive trees and prickly pears and below, in the emerald sea, the exclusive seaside village…and the beautiful Emerald Cave.
