Crossing the seafront , we are again in piazza Cantilena, passing the tall tower of the Trofimena and keeping straight on along via Giovanni XXIII . At about 200 m. ( in via Lama ) some steps that climb upwards , we take them and after about a hundred steps we find the first cross-roads.
       
towards Torre passing the Annunziata, taking the left towards the inside of the valley, in the direction of the districts Petrito and San Pietro.
After a few metres , from the green lemon groves emerges the

          The remains of a small church of the XII century, stupendous the decorations in an intaglio of tufa and earthen -ware tiles on the sides of the tower and the drum base of the Cupola...
Retracing our paces to the crossroads this time to take the right , at the open space "Mortella" , we take a breather and enjoy the stupendous panorama that from Ravello descends down the coast to the sea ...

CHIESA DI S. MICHELE A TORRE
          Entirely renewed at the end of the last century , the simplicity of the plan is saved by the grandiose internal decorations. In Byzantine style , a large band of winged angels flank an imitation box-ceiling that features , the four Evangelists, Jesus Christ , the Madonna and at the centre SS. Michele, Vito and Vincenzo Ferrer . Realized between the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century by a patient and competent hand, the frescoes frame the splendid trittico of the altar that portrays "SS. Michele, Vito and Marco Evangelist ", all protectors of Torre.


         
On the walls paintings by Carotenuto and Gargano , but above all the seventeenth century " Estasi di S. Pietro D' Alcantara " by Nicola Viso. Just behind the Church the road starts the descent towards Maiori, via Vena and the Collegiate of Santa Maria a Mare , but that is another story...
