          The ancient Rheginna " Minor" , Etruscan or maybe Greek of the VII century b.C., on the ample beach in the era of Augustus , a wealthy Roman built a Villa , electing Minori as the first tourist locality on the Coast...

          With the fall of Rome groups of frightened refugees settled in Forcelle on the high ground, and only in the middle of the VII century descended with the arrival of S.Trofimena and the founding of the first Basilica ...

Then the same history as the rest of the Amalfitan coast... In the heart of the alliance , Minori became a mercantile port, seat of the Arsenals and the Warehouses , " for her picturesque situation , her beach and her industries and the oranges ".... ( M.Camera) favourite residence of the Dukes , and from 987 Bishop's seat ...

          Then Guiscardo arrived and the Amalfitan State fell, the waltz of the new rulers started, Anjovins, Aragonesi , Piccolomini, Borbons,... In the ensuing years no particular happenings except the "O' Cuncierto e Minur" , or the hard work of the people of Minori who in the general abandon managed to keep a moderate commerce going and a minimum of productive activity...

          The rebirth began with the Romantic Grand Tour , the rapture of the travellers who were enticed by the magic atmosphere of the landscape and the life style of the inhabitants, inaugurated at Minori an artistic season that lasted until after the 1930's
Minori assumed the aspect of a tourist resort, a place of amusement , of sun and typical
products: hand-made paper, excellent lemons, and the famous " pasta of the Coast"...
