The first thing you will notice about Cetara is the silence, the "cianciole" (motorized fishing boats), lying still at berth, the silent inhabitants whose features are carved by the salt air, at one with the coast , and the white houses of an exotic form that at the centre of the town make a quadrangle : the "casbah " it is called and the inhabitants maybe are descendants of Arab merchants who established themselves there in the XIII century: but nobody at Cetara would confirm this story...
